S1-3 BGE:
The S1- 3 music courses allow pupils to experience a wide range of musical activities which help them to begin to develop the necessary skills for National 4 and 5 qualifications
Pupils in S1 try out a variety of classroom instruments before choosing 2 on which to specialise. Pupils learn to read music and develop listening skills through learning about Scottish Instruments and styles of music.
Homework: extra practice (Music Department open to all pupils at interval and lunch times).
S2 Music is about broadening pupils' understanding of music and improving their performing skills through learning about and playing different styles. Pupils still work on 2 chosen instruments.
Homework: extra practice (Music Department open to all pupils at interval and lunch times).
S3 Music is about increasing breadth and depth of knowledge and ability. Pupils do a mixture of Group and Solo performing on their 2 chosen instruments.
Homework: theory homework given once a week, and extra practice (Music Department open to all pupils at interval and lunch times).
