School Health Team
WHO ARE SCHOOL HEALTH NURSES?
We are qualified Health Professionals working within the school environment, part of the Care and Learning integrated service. We are responsible for the health of all pupils attending Plockton High School and all primary schools in Lochalsh and South Skye.
Katrina Finlayson, Community Staff Nurse for Schools
Katrina has worked with the school health team for over Ten years. Katrina covers all aspects of school health.
WHAT IS OUR ROLE?

We assess and advise on issues regarding young people’s physical and emotional wellbeing.

We offer a confidential service to pupils, however, if there are any concerns regarding a young person’s safety, child protection procedures will be implemented.

We are responsible for assessing and reporting any child protection concerns that may arise

We carry out the routine health appraisals and school immunisations. We also implement any Government led campaigns.
