The Highland Council has recently updated its Byelaws on the Employment of Children; further information can be found on the Council’s website (click on the link below). The Byelaws relate to the employment of children who are under school leaving age and provide details of the hours children are permitted to work and the types of employment allowed. Employers are obliged to notify the Care and Learning Service of their child employees and to obtain an ‘Employment Certificate’.
