Gàidhlig

Language skills developed in Gaelic-medium primary education, and at home, can be further developed and strengthened by these fluent speaker courses. These courses enable fluent Gaelic speakers to read, write, listen and talk in Gaelic for different purposes, audiences and contexts. They also develop understanding of the complexities of language through the study of texts and promote analytical thinking and awareness of the impact of the Gaelic language.

S1/S2

In S1/2, pupils studying Gàidhlig use the 'Seadh' course prepared by Storlann, 'Seadh' course or coursework prepared by the teachers.  These courses aim to extend pupils' skills in Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. Pupils keep a record of their own progress, as well. There is the opportunity to take part in the Gaelic Enterprise project, which gives pupils an opportunity to use their Gaelic creatively, while enhancing pupils’ employability skills and their skills for life.
